Browser & Web Navigation Tips
Ways to navigate websites, portals, and long webpages faster using built-in browser features and keyboard shortcuts.
Research Without Tab Overload
When working on a case law, audit issue, or technical interpretation, avoid random tab sprawl.
Use Tab Groups in Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
How it works:
Right-click a tab
• Select “Add tab to new group”
• Name the group (e.g., “Sec 43B – Case Law”)
• Add related tabs to the same group
You can:
• Collapse the group when not in use
• Visually separate multiple research tracks
• Reduce mental clutter instantly
Why this matters:
• Clear segmentation of issues
• No mixing GST tabs with Income Tax tabs
• Faster context switching
Structured professionals don’t open more tabs.
They organise them.
Bookmark Folder
Stop reopening the same 10 sites every morning.
Instead:
• Create a “CA Startup” bookmark folder
• Right-click → Open All
• Or set it as your browser startup pages
_Example:_
_Email + GST portal + MCA + Bank + Drive — in 1 click._
Small automation × 250 working days = serious time saved.
Efficiency compounds.
Use your browser’s built-in Task Manager to find hidden performance drains.
Press: Shift + Esc (in Chrome/Edge)
You’ll see:
• RAM usage per tab
• CPU usage
• Extensions consuming memory
Often it’s not the number of tabs — it’s one rogue extension.
Disable what you don’t use weekly.
Most “slow systems” are extension-heavy, not hardware-limited.
