Chowdary Purushottam Naidu, honorary president, AP GST Officers and Employees Association, has strongly opposed the transfer of all departmental staff on Thursday. He urged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to intervene and protect the interests of the department and its employees, as the decision taken by higher authorities might lead to a decline in GST collections.
According to a press release, he said that a delegation from the association requested Minister for Finance Payyavula Keshav, and TDP State president Palla Srinivasa Rao to bring the matter to the notice of the Chief Minister, noting that in the past three decades, no department in the State had experienced frequent and 100% transfers.
Mr. Purushottam Naidu, along with the association’s State president, Allina Ramesh Kumar, State associate president, Rayi Venugopal and general secretary Kalyan, interacted with Mr. Srinivasa Rao and urged him to use his good office to protect the interests of officials and staff concerned about the annual transfers.
Mr. Purushottam Naidu said: “Transferring all officials and staff hampers work since it takes a lot of time and effort to get acquainted with dealers, traders and others. Additionally, it is impossible for them to meet the GST targets.”
