Japan Considers International Accounting Rules, Nikkei Reports
Japan is considering adopting international accounting rules used by more than 100 countries, Nikkei English News reported. The country's Financial Services Agency may employ the standards as early as fiscal 2011 and will hold talks with the Japan Business Federation and other groups this month, Nikkei said. While the U.S. also has its own accounting rules, it may allow some companies to switch to international standards by 2014. [Source: Bloomberg]
